ii.Highways – Briar Lane from the 30 sign to the T junction, Highways are going to look at this area for Highways Issues.

v.Drax Repower scheme – SG discussed the repower project and the Statement of Common Ground which we have received in respect of a number of transport matters relating to the CWTP (Construction Traffic Management Plan). Our concerns have been sufficiently addressed in the revised CWTP and the Parish Council will be invited to the Transport Steering Group or similar liaison group to engage on managing local transport communication.

(5)Any Other Business
SG discussed our insurance of trees within the Parish, it was suggested that next year we have various trees surveyed and a Policy set in place, also for residents to keep trees which may overhang the highways, these must be chopped back to keep the highways clear
The memorial plaque on the tree in memory of Mr Hutchinson is in need of a good clean. MS has some cleaning products for this and will have a look at it. SG thanked HB for all her efforts with keeping this area clean and tidy.
SG suggested putting a post of the Newland Facebook asking for volunteers to help out keeping the war memorial area tidy, weeding, cleaning etc. Possibly a monthly rota.
SG is going to Plant a rose bush called Peace at the War Memorial site.
The stone on top of the War memorial needs re-securing.
After reports from HB the fence and gates on the Riverbank are to be replaced.
SG suggested trying to sort a day litter picking within the Parish, to try and keep Newland tidy.
The second dog bin needs erecting as lots of dog dirt on the Highway. (21/11/2018 – This has now been done)
